Poem: Salty

Cracker oh cracker
My bittersweet delight
Hunger you save me
But thirst make my blight
I am wanting and watching and savouring abound
Yet continually tell myself
Your crunch, make no sound.
A traveller's best partner
Is nourish and taste
But my ration will forever contain you
In memory or bag
The taste of you against my lips
Of course, merely a 'cracker'
